About Me
Hi! I'm Ms. Ruth, the proud founder and caregiver behind Ms. Ruth's Daycare. My journey in early childhood education began in New York State, where I earned my certification in both Early Childhood and Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 6), including Special Education. I'm also an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), and have years of experience supporting children across a wide range of developmental stages and learning needs.
Over time, I was drawn toward more natural, child-led approaches to learning — which led me to work as a forest school teacher right here in the Niagara region. There, I guided children through outdoor, play-based experiences that helped them build confidence, curiosity, and a deep connection with nature. It's in those quiet, wonder-filled moments outside that I truly saw how powerful screen-free, sensory-rich learning can be.
More recently, I became a mom myself — a role that has only deepened my respect for early childhood and the importance of nurturing each child with intention and love. That's why I created Ms. Ruth's Daycare — a cozy, screen-free home daycare rooted in nature, creativity, and connection. Here, your child will be treated as the unique and capable individual they are, in a calm, caring space that feels like a second home.

My Vision
At Ms. Ruth's Daycare, my vision is to provide a loving, screen-free environment where young children are free to imagine, explore, and grow through play and meaningful connections.
I believe that early childhood is best nurtured through real-world experiences — not screens. That's why our days are filled with hands-on activities, creative expression, and plenty of outdoor play. Whether it's splashing in puddles, digging in the garden, or playing make-believe in the fresh air, the children in my care are encouraged to move their bodies, use their imaginations, and engage with the world around them.
As a home-based provider, I offer a warm, safe, and personal setting where each child is known, supported, and celebrated. With a small group size and thoughtful routines, I foster emotional well-being, confidence, and a deep love of learning — all without the use of screens.
I partner closely with families to raise happy, curious, and capable children — rooted in nature, connection, and play.
